FAMILY FUN, FOOD'n'FROLIC!
As the ROAR event is held in the historic forests near Williamstown, both older and younger participants may catch sight of the Mount Crawford Yowie - a mythical two-legged ape-like hairy beast which legend has it has been seen in SA’s forests from Mt Crawford to Kuitpo!
‘Yowie’ is known to move along the Adelaide Hills' forest trails and was spotted as recently as 2015, tramping through the Sixth Creek Catchment area east of Adelaide, perhaps either heading toward Mt Crawford Forest, or south toward Kuitpo Forest. We put our microphones into the Mt Crawford Forest, not thinking we'd hear anything... but we were to be surprised! Listen to our audio track, at right above....! |
Will you or your little adventurers spot the Yowie...? We've developed a trail where we think the Yowie will be! Will they find him - or find evidence of his most recent visits....? Come along and find out!...
And whether you're watching participants - or searching for the Mount Crawford Yowie - you won't go hungry - or without the necessary cup of coffee!
ROAR organisers have arranged a good ol' country bacon, eggs and sausage sizzle for the day - and one of our local coffee vans will be there to satisfy the thirsts of all the latte, cappuccino, macchiato, mocha and other coffee lovers attending!
