The 2023 Southern Barossa VALLEY ROAR EVENT due to be held on Sunday October 15 HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
Organisers have called the event off due to concerns that THERE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH WATER IN THE WARREN RESERVOIR to run a successful
(and safe) event this year.
Organisers have called the event off due to concerns that THERE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH WATER IN THE WARREN RESERVOIR to run a successful
(and safe) event this year.
Roar Barossa, a triathlon conducted to great acclaim in October 2021 and 2022,
attracted many of Australia's top athletes and huge crowds of spectators to the Southern Barossa.
This year however, urgent work on the Reservoir's retaining wall has required the Warren to be drained - and despite valiant efforts by government departments and other authorities to see the Reservoir's water levels recover, organisers led by
Chair Lyn Venning along with other event experts, have made the decision to
postpone the event this year.
"Not only would any event fail to meet our own expectations, matters of safety and insurance formed a great part in the 'go no-go' decision."
NOTE COMPETITORS WHO REGISTERED TO PARTAKE
IN THIS YEAR'S EVENT HAVE HAD THEIR REGISTRATION
FULLY REFUNDED.
MS VENNING SAID REFUNDS WERE
CURRENTLY BEING ORGANISED.

The good news is that THE ROAR EVENT
WILL HAPPEN AGAIN 2024!
MS VENNING SAYS PLANS WERE ALREADY UNDERWAY
TO SEE THE EVENT RUN AGAIN ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 20 2024.
